Why Used Audiovox Cell Phones Are Really New

The concern in the past has been that «used» meant «not quite working,» but that is mostly just superstition these days, especially if «used» means, specifically, «refurbished» Audiovox cell phones. Some sellers still make a distinction between the two, with the former meaning simply pre-owned but not necessarily even tested (for performance), and the latter meaning pre-owned and rebuilt (to perform as if new), but many use the terms interchangeably, as synonyms, and that is how I will speak of them from now on. Do be sure to ask a vendor, though, just in case, if an item is not also described as being «refurbished» or, unusually more verbosely, some variant of «factory rebuilt.» For used Verizon cell phones should be tested to perform like new, if not actually rebuilt — refurbished — to do so.

For example, Audiovox cell phones that are refurbished start out as something that was simply returned to the service carrier — the service provider, the «telephone company.» With the generous «buy-and-try» return policies of most big corporations today, there are a lot of phones being returned on a daily basis. It would be a waste to simply throw away such Verizon Cell Phonesphones; even recycling them would be a waste of resources, especially when considering that one could simply resell such phones, since they usually work just fine anyway, having only been returned on a whim in the first place, and not for any issue of workmanship or performance. Indeed, this kind of «recycling» is part of what makes those generous return policies possible at all!

So buying used Audiovox cell phones is a good thing on several levels, and benefits you and, actually, our society in general, in many, many ways. To continue with our Verizon cell phones scenario: let’s say you purchased the HTC Hero. Somehow, you don’t like it — it requires a mandatory (and nasty) install of something — and you decide to return it. That smartphone now goes back to HTC and is checked to make sure everything still works. If there is a scratch on its normally beautiful finish, the cover is replaced, and the unit is thus «rebuilt.» It is then put back out on the market for resell as a refurbished item commanding less cost.

You, the original consumer, are happy because you got to play with the item but weren’t stuck with it. The company is happy because it can still make money on the thing. And someone else will be happy to own a piece of today’s technology at yesterday’s prices! Not to mention our planet, which has been spared yet another electronic gadget thrown away.
